Welcome Earthlings to this, my Musical Story, yes.  I spent many rainy evenings swatting bugs off of my computer screen, all the other lights in the house long turned off, sacrificing their little lives in pursuit of a greater good.  I bid you listen to this mix the way you listen to the sounds of nature, the sound of a baby’s first laugh, or the sound of Marcy being sensitive - with an open mind and true compassion.  For to be completely in the present moment, completely perceptive and purely receptive a deep receiver of all that is...is to exists as pure compassion.

 Entry music: you know when that dude walks in the room and everyone is like, THAT is the dude I want to be (if you don’t know that dude just think Ben Charlier-Matthews, Lawrence Walters, or David Watts).  This is the music that is playing while that happens.  Then he orders a Manhattan, two cherries.

5. The Beta Band - Lion Thief
 Heroes to Zeroes is an underrated album, most people just know the song “Dry the Rain”.  The Beta Band has so much to offer.  Other great albums to listen to while you’re getting a massage or driving home from the mountain after a hike are: The Three E.P.’s and Hot Shots II.

 Grungy, minimal.  If this song were a shot it would be 1 part Pat Dansky, 2 parts Dan Smith.  Served on fire without a straw.

 Everybody subconsciously searches for songs like this to play when they wake up.  With this song every morning is a good morning.

 Ok, I know it’s a little poppy and ridiculous but if I said I don’t dig pop I’d be a fucking liar.

 Turn up the headphones people, do justice to the bass.  Even Jesus digs the bass.

 You’re driving through the woods, there’s a lake on your right, surrounded by pines all around.  All your friends are asleep in the car, it was a long night.  Thank god we’re out of the city and back home.  But you have not regrets, you have to see the city to know that you don’t belong.

 I debated for a long time whether or not to put this on the mix.  Some people say when in doubt throw it out...good decision to keep it?
